Dr. Fuoco, Medical Director
Christina L. Fuoco, VMD, CVA, CCRT, grew up in Haddonfield, New Jersey and earned her B.A. in French from the University of Notre Dame and her VMD from the University of Pennsylvania in 2001. After working in private practices in NJ and Philadelphia, she helped open WAG in 2010. Dr. Fuoco is a traditionally trained veterinarian with additional certifications in canine rehabilitation and acupuncture. She has developed a holistic approach to her medical practice, balancing the best of Eastern and Western medicines.

Chad, Director of Operations
Chad Carnahan, R.A. was born and raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina and is not shy to tell you about it. Chad graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1997 with a B. Arch. and practiced architecture for some time in Washington, DC and Philadelphia. That was until 2010 when he helped open WAG, where he now utilizes his design and project management experience directing the business. He also periodically robs his bees to provide extremely local honey for sale at WAG.
Amanda, Office Manager
Amanda Dinan grew up in Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania. She received her Bachelor of Science in tourism and hospitality from Temple University. Upon graduation she worked for several hotel companies developing her managerial skills. She utilizes her guest relations and hospitality knowledge to best care for our furry friends. Outside of work, Amanda enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking, and taking trips to the beach.
AnnaLisa, Sports Massage Therapist
AnnaLisa Allegretti grew up in Philadelphia, PA. She received her Bachelors of Arts in Media, Culture, and Society; an independent major that she developed at Bryn Mawr College. She later earned her Master of Science in Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, but her focus always remained animal-centric, so she used her skills in 3D modeling and animation to create mechanically accurate 3D models of animals. With experience working in the veterinary field, and a lengthy history of animal advocacy, rescue and rehabilitation, working to further help animals just seemed natural. AnnaLisa obtained her Equine and Canine Sport Massage Certification in 2013, and joined the WAG team as a visiting consultant in 2014, where massage has since evolved into one of WAG’s full time offerings! AnnaLisa is also certified in Pet First Aid and CPR through the Red Cross. Outside of work, AnnaLisa enjoys traveling with her three dogs (the cats have to stay at home), painting pet portraits, rescuing, riding and training horses.
Lisa, Head Veterinary Technician
Lisa earned her A.A.S. in Veterinary Technology from Camden County College before passing the VTNE to become a CVT in 2016.
Lisa moved from South Jersey to Philadelphia before joining WAG in 2018. She immediately fell in love with canine rehabilitation and has been helping the WAG kids ever since.
When not with her patients, Lisa enjoys singing, dancing, reading and spending time with her partner Anthony and their cat, Jane!
Melissa, Veterinary Technician
Melissa is originally from Georgia and has been living in Pennsylvania for the past 12 years. She earned an Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice from Macon State College and is currently working on her CVT through Penn Foster. Melissa has been a Veterinarian Assistant for the past 5 years, working in emergency medicine, rehabilitation, and general practice. When she is not working, she is spending time with her family, friends and her 2 rescue Shar-Peis.
Ashley, Veterinary Technician
Ashley earned her Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science from Bloomsburg University in PA. She has spent most of her life in central NJ. Ashley has a background in human and animal wellness and rehabilitative services, along with spending the last 5 years in veterinary medicine. Patient comfort and care during visits are her priority, with a special focus on anxious pets. When not working, Ashley enjoys painting, hiking, and spending time with her Labrador retriever mix, Felix. Felix loves going to the beach and showing his spotted tongue to everyone he meets!
Susan, Therapist
Susan Karakawa, MPT, CCRT grew up in State College, PA and has always had a passion for animals. In fact, her original intention was to become an equine veterinarian. She earned her BS in Biology from Muhlenberg College and her MPT from Hahnemann University. Susan worked as a physical therapist for over 20 years, evaluating and treating patients with amputations, neurological diagnoses, cardiopulmonary issues, orthopedic complaints, dementia, and other medically complex patients.
Upon moving back to Pennsylvania she was finally able to pursue her dream of working with animals. She began working at WAG in 2023 as a rehabilitation technician while pursuing her CCRT which she obtained in 2024. Susan is now able to apply her decades of rehabilitation experience to animals.
Susan lives in Glenside with her husband, 2 rescue dogs, and rescue bunny. She enjoys doing parkour and nose work with her dogs and creative pursuits such as making jewelry and interior decorating.
Clare, Administrative and Veterinary Assistant
Clare lives in south Philly with her dog and boyfriend. At WAG, she works the front desk and also helps with social media and Minnie's Amazing Gift, WAG's scholarship program. Outside of work, she cat sits through The Cat Peeps and does community outreach through South Philly Punks with Lunch. Her hobbies include running ultramarathons, playing Dungeons and Dragons, and listening to a lot of podcasts and audiobooks.
Yusef-Hamza, Administrative and Veterinary Assistant
Yusef was born in Caracas, Venezuela and grew up in Miami, FL before moving northeast to western Massachusetts. Soon after however, they and their partner visited and fell in love with Philadelphia and decided together that this is where they need to be! Before coming to WAG Yusef worked in animal welfare for over 4 years as both an adoption counselor and later on as a Community Spay/Neuter Clinic administrator. They provided live English-Spanish translation and low-cost neuter/veterinary services with the Dakin Humane society to the surrounding low-income communities in need. Aside from petting and training cats or playing with pups and reptiles they’re also a freelance illustrator and abstract visual artist who enjoys painting people, their pets, wildlife, and the occasional geometric mess of scary squiggles.
Amy, Administrative and Veterinary Assistant
Amy lives in Roxborough with her husband Josh. At WAG, she works as a receptionist and assists with appointments when needed. She has two degrees, both Animal Science/Veterinary Medicine based from Delaware Valley University and Louisiana State University. Amy grew up with a house full of pets and while she likes them all, her favorites are dogs and horses. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, cooking/baking, various crafts, reading, and is also a bit of a cineaphile!
